Guerrero has an area of about 64,281 square kilometers of fertile and lush valleys, mountains wrapped with forests, and coastal prairie land. For better administrational purposes, Guerrero is internally divided into 75 municipalities. The State of Guerrero has its boundaries with several other states. For example, in the north it is Estado de Mexico, in the northwest is the State of Morelos, in the southwest is the Pacific Ocean, and in the north and west is the State of Michoacan.

The real treasure of Guerrero is its countless beaches, spread over a vast area of 505 kilometers shoreline. Guerrero is a paradise for tourism for Mexico. Here, tourists can find several archaeological places, convents, churches, frescos in caves, historical monuments, rivers, lagoons, folklore and exclusive gastronomy.

Taxco is a majestic town in Guerrero, which came up as a mining venue, turned into an architectonic place in the late 1940s. In the town of Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa, tourism construction and development started in 1980s. The federal government of Mexico planned and designed this whole area. You might want to admire these amazing twin cities in a very accessible place, such as Hotel Villa Mexicana, where all the famous attractions are within a short distance. There are countless surfing spots along the 500 kilometer Pacific Coast line of the State of Guerrero. The beaches of Acapulco, Zihuatanejo and Ixtapa are accessible through bumpy roads. Acapulco is the place where several contests and competitions are arranged in order to increase the popularity of these venues. Mayan Palace and Barra Vieja are placed on the south. June is the rainy season for Guerrero, which goes through September or sometimes up to October. Such an atmosphere enhances the greenery of the region. Don’t forget to bring sweaters and light jackets because sometime the nights become quite chilled.
